the bond market affects stock prices. the Fed bought US treasuries to ensure liquidity and push investors into riskier assets to"prop up" the market. the fed is 25% of treasury market activity, meaning when they stop buying, and instead start selling, it may cause distortions to bond yields. bond yields, specifically the 10 year treasury yield is the asset that stocks are priced against. so if the fed is selling bonds and the selling of bonds pushes yields higher, it could be like a stealth rate hike

we're in a new chapter/phase of the bear market

more red cause of rate hikes. we priced in 3.5% 10 year in mid June, then the 10yr started going down on fears of slowing growth, inflation peaking, and lower hikes/pivot in 2023. Now it seems the fed is going to 4% 10yr and staying there for potentially all of 2023. this means we could retest the lows and quite possibly go lower.

the 10 Year Treasury is all that matters.

we have Jackson Hole in a week, JPOW speaks on friday, he could signal more tightening and then we get heemed. but then there fomc meeting is sept 21st and it could signal the last part of the tightening cycle. lots to watch out for i suppose
