Traditional Japanese architecture is very nice, some of it similar to medieval and Viking age European houses.

There's very little of it left. Japan has been almost completely destroyed by modern culture and (((westernization))) and the people turned into pacifists and the men feminized. Just carrying a tiny kitchen knife or a box cutter outside your house hidden, in a pocket, is a punishable offense that sends you to prison and gives you a criminal record. The mentality and social behavior of the average jap is totally different than it was say 80-150 years ago. And everyone lives like prisoners and drones in a hellish wageslave system (worse than Europe and the USA in that regard), it's extraordinarily difficult for japs to escape the system and live outside of society if they want to.
