I've just finished my first year of a mechanical engineering degree at a reasonably highly regarded university in Scotland. Tbh im finding it extremely boring and after doing a few weeks work experience at an engineering firm i'm beginning to realise that all engineering is for the vast majority of people is staring at a screen for 8 hrs straight drawing lines in 2D CAD.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't drop out and peruse a career in saturation diving for a few years?
>right place for it (big oil industry in Aberdeen)
>almost double mean income
>more exciting life
>i have always enjoyed subaqua/free diving
>high chance of death
>a win in literally every way
my long term plan would be to quit after collecting enough savings and start buying up cheap houses, refurbishing them then renting. My dad has a few friends that did something similar to this and all are millionaires.

Anything I am retardedly overlooking?
