Because if they actually were honest with their post tax pay they’d cry their way to the rope and chair store. Their entire reality is an illusion that can break just from looking at it wrong.

honestly man, i've tried two strategies: they both work, on different time scales.

1)put all the money you don't need into bitcoin, accounting for future expenses (always have your bill money before you get the bill). Fuck the price. When you can buy or pay something with bitcoin, spend the bitcoin (that you almost certainly bought at a cheaper price in the past) and (optional) rebuy the bitcoin. This insulates you from short term price swings, and even if your investment is small you essentially make it bigger by cycling your expenses through it.

2) keep a certain amount of crypto and a certain amount of fiat. trade every swing you can. adjust your ratio of crypto:fiat based on market conditions.

If you do anything like option 2, have a profit purpose for the inevitable fiat bag you will hold. Preferably something you can liquidate if the market goes long term bear enough to rebuy (fat chance). But really, once you cash out . . . you'd better be ready to spend that money.

Otherwise its going back into crypto.

You can't cash out.

honestly (and I had this realization back when he was blatantly shilling for mt gox as they imploded), while he may not be the anarcho-capatalist hero we want . . . He just might be the anarcho-capatalist hero we deserve.

The whole point of crypto is to be a trustLESS solution to money. If we had people we thought we could trust leading the way . . . wouldn't we inevitably be be led astray?

This is how it's supposed to be.

now you sir, truly cannot cash out

all my crypto was purchased with my paycheck from my day job. I specifically waited to invest until that was possible, because of all the black market activity.

look im not on board the cash train (imo if you didn't get in sub 1k you missed the boat) because this is my first year filing day trading taxes (lurker since 2010, made <1k in 2013, hodler since 2014) so I'm keeping my activity on one exchange (gdax).

BUT

I don't know why cashies aren't spreading segwit FUD. the problem with bitcoin today isn't scaling or hashrate or anything. It's potential security holes with segwit.

BFX/Tether is a prettty big issue, but its going to come down on eth and alts much more than its going to affect bitcoin. bitcoin has great support at 1k-2k so it wont fall more than 2/3rds. Many of these alts are going to fall by infinity.

You guys haven't seen it happen . . . you think bagholding means being stuck at -33%.
