Large volume represents a real move because more people are actively buying/selling there. Think of it like having more people standing in the chaotic stock marketplace yelling out orders. It basically just represents that the move is considered important to the market as a whole.
I.E.: Imagine seeing an asset rising, and volume is increasing on the rise. This means that the rising price action with rising volume (more screaming in the stock market trying to buy) is a move that the market as a majority will probably agree with. The higher the timeframe, the more importance you can assign to this high volume.
On the other hand, if your asset is rising in price but volume is relatively low in comparison to the past X number of candles, it may just be a move within a larger pattern, which has less significance. This does not mean that it will not move higher, but what you may eventually find at the end of that move is a "sudden, unexpected" reversal. This is because the market did not really care about the few people who were actually trading at those prices. It went against the consensus.
Remember, every investor and trader is part of the market. You have to put yourself in the market's shoes to understand some of these concepts. Also DYOR, I mean google/duckduckgo is not hard to reach, fren.
