>and our kids will get to suffer the economic consequences
Look around you, the millennial and zoomer generations are so starved of wealth that they can't even support kids to begin with. The majority of them barely support themselves. But where has the wealth that they were supposed to get gone to? Who's the primary beneficiary of these gibs and who's the primary beneficiary of the 2008 ones, or every single measure designed to upkeep the current economy from restarting?
That's just how the world works, the true struggle has always been intergenerational first and then international second. You first remove the corrupt ruling nobles of your kingdom and put yourself as a king before you go on and conquer the other kings. Here's our problem - the current king's been ruling for more than 30 years and refuses to let go of the throne. Everything around him is reduced to a peasant paying some form of a tax, be it having to repay the gibs they're taking right now (by having full control over the decision of course) or paying their rents which is a sphere that they as a generation dominate and have already used the state to bail themselves out some time ago. This king also does his best to stop the younger pretenders from ever gaining traction and is suppressing both of their counter-status quo ideologies by branding them terrorism and throwing the alphabet agencies, again headed by the same generation, against them.

The only way out of this mess and the abdication of the anxious revolution-suppressing boomer king is to just do what he fears the most and what he's most invested in preventing.
