I agree with everything you said, except the buy gold first part.
Many anons feel that silver has a bigger upside, plus you don't have to save up- you can start right away.
There's no one-size-fits-all plan, everyone's situation is different, but if you're just starting and you don't have any PMs yet, I'd recommend silver first. Depending on how much you plan on putting in to PMs, I wouldn't recommend buying gold until you already have at least 100-200 ozs of silver.
Ultimately it's an individual choice though. Some anons are 100% silver, some are 1/100 Au/Ag. Make a plan that works for you.
