>What this means is if you have a sample of, say, ground water, I can tell you the temperature it was at when you collected it by the ratio of isotopes. That's boring and unnecessary.
Don't you be dissing hydrogeologists!
And you don't really get the temp from collection, you get the temp it precipitated at, i.e. the elevation it's from, and that's neither boring nor unnecessary. Well, OK, I guess the boring part is true for 99% of the population, but figuring you where your (drinking) water comes from is rather important.
>We used an internal standard for most calibrations. No way we were going to calibrate with VSMOW every day.
We're using the Los Gatos readymade standards, but as they're approahcing VSMOW in price, I'm really looking into mxing my own internalt standards too. The distributor we're getting them from raised the price by 50% in the last year.
Fucking inflation.

>Are the conspiracy theories about the comex real or is it just schizo shit to try to make you fomo into silver?
Yes.
>Personally I think of silver as a form of insurance with some potential for a price breakout due to supply & demand factors but I don't have all my wealth in it.
Sensible take. Same for me, except
>More concerned about having something useful on hand barter scenario.
I doubt it'll come to that, but I guess if I'm wrong, I still have the option for it.

…I guess that's answered now.
Oh, and I need some financial advice:
I'm a bit low on fiat right now, since I spent it all on some farmland, but I got some itch for some cute little 2 rand piece of gold. But I don't feel comfy with less than 10k liquid, so I don't know what to do.
