Is Ethereum the most overrated project in history?

I mean, it only lives off the status of being #2 in marketcap right?
Couple days ago I spoke with a normie about the recent crypto rise, he said "ETH will go up for sure a lot". I asked him "why? does it have any relevance in real life, to go up much further?" he started to stutter and couldnt even explain the use case .

I think 2016/17 was the ETH era that opened doors for the thousands of ER20 scams.
But come on, that time is over. In my opinion ETH will bleed out slowly like a stranded whale. Look at the huge marketcap that leaves room for dumpediedump
