We were talking about GME getting a cut of digital sales in August when it became clear that the new consoles were epic AMD boxes that would have to be sold at a loss. Retailers don't sell things at a loss, they were obviously going to get subscription revenue.
The pump happened because MSFT gave a five year vote of confidence. It was the weakest possible catalyst.

But if you look at the spike for Cohen's 13D filing, you never would have timed it. If you look at the spike this week, it was halted and jumped up a dollar.
There's nothing wrong with swinging GME, I would love to do it, but you probably would have missed both catalysts so far.

2) lows are getting lower with every attack, so this strategy is running out of ammo
3) remember time is not on the short's side due to borrow fees and increasing margin requirements. I can hold my shares forever and my options until december without significant theta decay

But yes the big squeeze will require an external push factor to suddenly spike the price. Good news is there's lots of possibilities for that
