Shitstock moons that hit the news attract a certain kind of desperate following. A lot of these people think that if it happened once surely it could happen again in near future. They form online groups. They talk about business minutia that it has fuck all to do with the stock ever mooning again. In GME's case, the idea that the stock has a high short percentage again after that first squeeze is pure crack to the naive.

I mean, he did have the "THEY KNOW NOTHING!" rant on the Fed saying they should lower interest rates to save the bond market. I don't know if he was overall bearish at that time though.
