Thats a weakness of the consensus protocol, which we already know, that bitcoin is already taken over since more than 51% of hash-power is in hands of men in picture.
That weakness does not take over the entire network still - the full validating nodes act as breaks. So that increases cost of "exploit a miner" to also "exploit many of the full nodes".
That cost is way higher for PoW coins, than AVAX. PoW coins complexity is low, AVAX high.
