If you don't own any gold, you should own some gold. Sovereigns are kino as fuck and I will own a full roll of them someday.

If you like to play with your gold, stick to Krugerrands and Eagles since they're composed of 22kt gold alloy (aka "crown gold" standard). Same also goes for UK Sovereigns. Still high purity gold, but more durable for wear.

Just keep in mind that there is 3% silver in the American Gold Eagle so buyers with more discriminating tastes (i.e. Chinese and Indians) might not be interested.

As long as the declared value is under $10,000 USD, you should be alright. Eight 1 oz. American Gold Eagles or a roll of 25 British Sovereigns will suffice.

No need to lug around a hefty bar, when a roll of British Sovereigns will suffice.
