Basically easiest way to get a functional node is to get a Amazon AWS VPS. SSH to it and copy and paste the commands from chainlinks github. Once completed and you have a node + eth syncing in 2 separate terminals. Then hop to the web UI, when I tried it was just a localhost address, but I ran the node on my own PC and not AWS.

Once in the web UI you need to get your ropsten testnet LINK and ETH and you can start "feeding" data. But really your not actually doing anything meaningful for a real smart contract.

I made the decision almost a year ago that I would be steadily investing in Chainlink, so far I haven't regretted that decision. If it fails, I've lost most of my yearly investment budget. If it succeeds I'm set for life. Even if it only goes to $5, that's life changing money for me, and if it never goes past that I can leverage it into other investments.
But I think it's going way past $5. Suck all the dicks you swing trading fudders, you are going to get burned HARD if you keep this game up, it isn't even really working anymore!
