I had covid in early March. It was just a fever for 2-3 days, then a cough for like 4 days. Pretty standard, didn't even notice loss of taste/smell. The only unusual thing about it was whole-body aches for a couple days after the fever. I've never had a fever cause that much aching before it was like I had the mother of all workouts

But yeah for the majority of people who aren't either obese or super old or have some kind of existing medical condition, it's a literally just a fever & cough. The issue with it is the people in those categories I mentioned (fat, old, long-term ill) form a large portion of the population of any western country. We don't let them die in the streets so they fill up the hospitals because covid means they're stuck there for weeks being treated - this is how it's different from the flu
