I don't see how rate pauses are bullish. That would signal that the FED thinks something is fundamentally wrong, which every CB in the world is trying to denie at the moment. They said two weeks ago inflation is still a problem. A pause would look inflationary, which itself is a driver of inflation. Not good.

Just so I understand this correctly: we start from 25 bps, then jpow comes up with "higher for longer" because inflation is too high. Shortly thereafter, some banks collapse due to their inability to hedge long-term bonds, while being bailed out by the government with relative ease. Now the inflation data comes out and it is as problematic as expected. And from this we now conclude that the FED will pivot?
