If you're using a pool like moneroocean, they let you mine other coins like ETH and convert your hashrate from that to XMR hashrate (not 1:1) and I would recommend doing so
Pic related is a comparison, the top is all my CPU units while below is my RX580 on ETHash
I've found the 3900x to be able to hit 14KH/s fairly well if you do a little overclocking and have 3200MHz memory, while the RX580 (once it converts from ETHash rate to XMR hash rate) does around 30KH/s normally, though has spiked to 40KH/s often
If you're already building a system on ryzen you'll need a GPU anyways so getting a good deal on an RX580 is pretty well worth it, just make sure you max out the fans on the card because the automatic fan curve is awful and it WILL overheat if you dont, if you do however it usually sits around 53*c
