You just do not understand how much power is wasted every year on these "waste load" systems. We are talking like 10% of all power generated is wasted on these loads, thats not even counting AC>DC>AC conversions like between the Texas and north American grids. Crypto monetizes all of that. So just the purposefully diverted power, if diverted into mining rigs, will power btc (and all other cryptos) no problem. Banks are loaning money to mine coin with solar, they aren't loaning money to build solar farms.
