I seriously don't understand why coding is ultra hyped around here on biz.

You'll often to see people saying, "making $300k wfh and still chiling!" - the truth is some of these are true, while the other half of these are larps.

Take this from a former employed codemonkey - unless you have a straight up PASSION for coding (aka you wish to code for fun rather than sleep at night), then avoid coding like the fucking plague.

For starters, if you want to code for a corporation, get ready for backstabbing snakes for coworkers, extremely out of touch management who throw impossible deadlines on you like candy, on-call work that'll guarantee you'll get no sleep, having to work with teams that are completely off base and ruin projects all the time, and worst of all...the pay is fucking garbage for the level of work that you do.

I can write a whole novel on the hell I went through during my coding days, but I can't fit everything into one post.

I have to be honest here (and I feel like I'm speaking for many throughout the world on this too)...I want to be rich but I don't feel like putting in the work necessary.

It's one of those catch 22's in life. Either you sign your life away to slave away for the money necessary to have "fun" (but you can't have fun if you don't have time due to working constantly) or you don't do the work, give yourself time but now you don't have the means to go and do what you want out of life.

Me particularly, I want to tour around the USA in my car and travel around the world whenever I please. When at home, I want to game, watch yt vids, and go on walks all the time.

Why is our world setup in such a way that if you don't inherit big money or if you don't get lucky in some stupid lottery, you're fucking screwed? :(

Long story short, I did a coding job for over 5 years before quitting earlier last year and I'm at a crossroads about where to take my career next. I absolutely despite coding and most especially coding corporate culture. WAY too much pressure with unreasonable deadlines, incompetent teams with poor communication, out of touch retarded managers who only got their positions through nepotism, etc.

Anyways, please list careers for me and others to view please.

I can't believe these retarded wagies are so ungrateful. I always tip, at least $5 per order because I used to do ubereats/doordash a lot a few years back when I was penniless, and never expected tips. But I was happy when I got some. I always worked seriously despite the shitty circumstances and assumed most people shared this work ethic, like me. I made it thanks to the 2021 BSC casino and quitting while I was ahead so now I don't have to worry about money as much as I used to, and always try to help or be grateful towards people who weren't as lucky in life.

That changed today after I had a look at several popular threads on there and saw the disgustingly high levels of raw ungratefulness, pettiness and delusional expectations these people have and the way they try to fuck with the customers: >intentionally delaying orders with detours >outright refusing them if they don't get tips
>drivers voluntarily sending "thank you for the tip" notifications late in the night hoping to disturb your sleep
>drivers feeding themselves when they feel they weren't tipped enough or thrashing your food and pretend it was an accident

etc. All of the above behaviors get rewarded with unironic upvotes, too.

Every job I start, I end up totally excluded socially. And after a good beginning, where I manage to figure out how to do the job, my manager gives me vague feedback about "communication" and "relationships" with no actionable steps to improve or clear examples where I went wrong. Sometimes they'll give second hand feedback (usually given by some repulsive boomer employee who has been part of the stagnant social milieu for many years) about how this other person doesn't have confidence in me (I don't mean due to failing at a task; I mean literally my manager says this person has a bad feeling about me; this has happened on multiple occasions).

And then things deteriorate between me and my manager from there.

I started as excel cattle until I started working in a healthcare laboratory. It was torture, though I had the comfort of knowing that I was providing something that a civilized society needed to function.
