sup anons!

riddle me this. i come from the far east of Russia, beautiful nature, mountains, pacific ocean, king crabs, whatever you may ask for.
one very wealthy high-up criminal from my hometown is trying to mine gold in my region, which tells me it's there, he is a smart guy.
i've been thinking. what if i go back and start gold panning? scout the area, find good spots and try my luck?

it'd be a huge change but i'm tired of it all, i am tired of the rat race, even though i haven't been a classical wagie for more than a decade now. live a frugal life in the nature, raise kids, wash gold and maybe try to find some gems, dunno.

Can I still make money just panning for gold? I hate my job and want to be outdoors all the time instead, but at the same time don't want to be around other people. I'm in California and there still seems to be a bunch of gold claims for sale here.

At the bare minimum I can survive on $1000 a month since I live with my parents, if I pan for gold full time for at least 10 hours a day could I realistically still find that amount of gold?
