22 y/o here. I’m going to bet on the Super Bowl with all the money to my name. Well, technically with more money than I really have. I just opened a 0% APR credit card with a $3500 line and plan to use about $1500 to finance my bets.

Now, these would be strategic bets, I’ve already done the math. The upper bound payout range of some of them is $30-90k — is mathematically a 7% chance of hitting. HOWEVER, I have a strong intuition as well as data showing that the true odds of my Super Bowl MVP bet are significantly better than they appear: around 22%. That’s not just wishful thinking, buy rather the conclusion of statistical analysis going back 20 years. This realization of the immense value available to me is the whole reason I’m going through with this in the first place. The lower bound payout range is $1-7k — probably 65-70% chance of hitting. Now, there is a roughly 30% chance that I lose it all, but hedging too much to prevent any loss will decrease my upside. I think that the possibility of life-changing money, and the decent likelihood of simply breaking even (with maybe some profit) makes it worth it.

Of course, the obvious risk is that I end up with credit card debt (possibly destroying my credit score) with no current income with which to pay it back ….. but ≈ $1500 I feel is more recoverable than something like $10k. I can live with being $1500 in the hole. What I can’t live with is seeing my prediction come true on the 10th without profiting off of it.

That is my genius plan, feel free to call me retarded or a stupid kid. Hopefully my luck doesn’t land on the 30% side.

The bank in my first world country just blocked all transactions to crypto exchanges. If any transaction looks like it's going into something crypto related they will block the transaction and flag your account.
