That mini crash in stocks in 2018 was caused by the Fed easing off Q.E. When they did so, the Tbond yield went to 3%, which caused a flood of money out of the market into the risk free returns of Tbonds. This cannot be allowed to happen, because the vast majority of pensions are funded via stocks: money flooding into bonds would nuke their value and annihilate retirement funds.

Ordinarily you would expect them to eventually institute yield caps (YCC), but they don't even need to do that officially anymore, since Q.E. acts like a backdoor YCC since they can print however much they want. And since Boomers will NEVER, EVER face the music and rip off the band aid, we won't get a proper crash of the market, we will get a nominal ATH, as the market soars in terms of USD but crashes against assets. Imagine the DJI/gold ratio being 0.05.
