I have a quick question for someone more experienced than I.

I bought a PUT option on McDonald stock and my break-even price for that stock was $169.99. When the stock fell to somewhere around $168 today I tried to sell the stocks to the seller of the PUT contract but the order was executed when the price rose back up around 15 minutes later.

My question is, shouldn't the order have executed immediately since I had an agreement with the seller of the PUT contract beforehand ? I thought that was the whole point of a PUT, so I can wait until the market price goes down and sell it at a higher price.

Thanks in advance, I'm still very new to all this. Also I want to add that I have a demo account on Saxo and that is what I'm using to trade.

I feel like fun has a great team and a real use case, but it's just been keep going down ever since the crash to the point that I could have 2-3x my stack by not holding it.
