Also here are some breadcrumbs, one of the reddit judges has been praising xDai since after the competition ended. Wouldn't surprise me if he had been impressed by the project and decided to start recommending it to people to build on.

The problem with waiting a few weeks is that we know the reddit competition winner will be announced in that same time frame, as the winner is to be announced in September. If you wait too long it might not drop and then you miss the huge run up after the reddit announcement. Reddit competition is huge because it represents a huge pool of potential crypto users and mainstream adoption. Which ever crypto wins is going to the moon. xDai is one of the lowest caps and one of the newest tokens so it has a huge potential upside.

Just keep the time frame in mind. The guy in image is one of the people reviewing the projects at reddit. Seems he started talking about the project after it was submitted on reddit, so maybe he saw some things he liked about it while comparing it to the other scaling solutions.
