Even 90%+ of the 'technical' community does not realize the true need for a dvpn because they don't consider the provability aspect. you would trust a ledger, because ledger has proven to the public that no one else has the ability to take your private key once its generated on the hardware device. Meanwhile in a closed web wallet, the owner of the web wallet could easily store your private key and access your account (if you logged in using the private key or generated the private key using the web wallet) likewise, would you trust a VPN with access to your networking card that doesn't show you whats going on in the background (fully closed source and obscure) -or would you trust a VPN which proves to you that it is doing everything that you expect it to do as it is fully open source and provable

admins on telegram mentioned the installer for the v3 client, is ready and will be released shortly

The Sentinel V3 update will feature fully rebuilt clients along with a microservices architecture that will allow for dApp developers to integrate the Sentinel dVPN into their distributed and decentralized application via an API

A critical update from SENT, the previous monolithic structure of the Sentinel desktop client has been split into a microservice architecture based backend and front-end

users will be able to remotely access the dVPN on their router

https://github.com/ironman0x7b2/client/blob/development/main.go

In the previous client, the UI and the application logic is in the same desktop client codebase which has been written in ReactJS.

There was no ability for other applications to integrate with the Sentinel dVPN network or for users to remotely manage their dVPN client

The new client features a binary file which starts a API server that allows for the UI to be imported from anywhere in the subnet.

On top of this binary anyone can write their own custom UI and also integrate dVPN and Sentinel account into their own app through the API server

What does this mean?

1) Remote management of Sentinel dVPN present in home router/raspi
2) Ability for enterprises/organizations to build applications ontop of the Sentinel network with dynamic UI that is maintained from their own server (users do not need to download a new installer for a UI update)
3) Ability for other applications to integrate Sentinel dVPN services and account system into their application

"Sentinel is a dVPN net its not a single dvpn"

dVPN-net

sentinel is many vpns:

sentinel decentralizes both the back end (by letting anyone host a node) and the front-end (by letting anyone build on top of the open sourced apps)

sentinel goal is to have hundreds of VPNs built upon it with many payments options, languages and different set of features , anybody can easily become a VPN provider without the need to own hardware, and given the decentralized nature of the whole system you will never have any legal problems by launching your sentinel based app

V3 client will fix all of those problem, current desktop app is from 2018, v3 is fully remade from scratch with an inbuilt cosmos wallet
it will have a killswitch so you will be able to terminate connection at any point, and the new wireguard nodes will improve connectivity
we will see way more user nodes once main net is launched

turing 3 testnet was the final missing piece , now the v3 client can be launched, all the dVPN logic will be integrated directly with the cosmos chain, so i expect v3 client will be coming out in october and main net november december ( but no official date from the team other then "before the end of the year")

the new whitepaper will definitely come before main net

sent is around 5-6m cap so that would be a x40 from here, and thats conservative given the average cap of other cosmos projects

The incentivization schedule for the Turing-3 testnet has been released.

https://medium.com/sentinel/sentinel-turing-3-incentivization-schedule-8b156154b28b

The key focus of Turing-3 is for participants to discover potential vulnerabilities in Sentinel's custom built Cosmos based modules that are being deployed for the dVPN workflow.

"The key objective in this category is for participants to find potential bugs in the developed modules and exploit these bugs in order to conduct double spending attack.
Those who successfully exploit the attacks and find issues in the modules (specifically in keepers, handlers, and end blocker logics) should submit the concerned documentation on Sentinel's official GitHub repository.

In the event of any critical bug which may halt the testnet, an immediate patch will be released and a new version of the testnet will be launched. In such a scenario, the duration of the testnet may be extended further."
