Eastern (un)orthodoxy is heresy and schism.

Their own council (blancanae) condemns any sort of processiom of the Holy Spirit from the Son. This is important as
1. It condemns their own Saints, because most of the Fathers taught the filioque
2. It condemns Their own position of 'through the son'

There is also their polytheism, called real distinction between essence and energies. Such as they believe in 2 Gods.

One (essence) uncreated with no beginning
One (energy) uncreated with a beginning who is outside/around the other.


There is also the fact they signed the Council of Florence, agreeing to the filioque and papal supremacy. Also Constantinople fell on the feast day of Pentecost (really makes you think)

The filioque has patristic support and even the Athanasian creed taught it. Even the greek manuscripts had it before they removed it.

They also believe that the light of transfiguration of our Christ as the divinity and uncreated and not a created light even condemning the notion.

This isna problem has Christ said to His apostles that some of them would not die before they see the son of man in the glory of the Father. Note the son of man and not son of God, referring to His humanity not the divine nature.

Plus the divine nature cannot be seen by man until after he dies. Also Pope Saint Gregory the Great and Maximus the confessor but taught that this light was created, not uncreated.


Also in the first century, the second Pope, Pope Clement sent a letter to the eastern Church of Corinth, ordering them in persona Christi to reinstate deposed clergy. They obeyed and even considered the letter as part of their canon for some time.
