Mt. Gox went down in early 2014 in which it lost over 800,000 BTC. Since then, its creditors, who consist mostly of the earliest Bitcoin believers, have been fighting to have their assets back, or at least some of them.
Mt. Gox still holds 142,000 BTC ($3.18 billion by today’s prices) and an equivalent amount in BCH, Bitcoin SV, and BTG. The trustee has indicated that he intends to sell off the BSV and BTG for fiat to refund users.

>>Do you believe that the 658,000 BTC are gone ?

>> how much does it cost to increase the value of BTC with 100%

>>More than 60 000 000 00 ?
>>That is the value of 600k BTC sold at 10,000 more. Use brain for the reason for this bullrun ? Banks forclosing, banks like JPM paying interest on holdings

I'm a crypto OG. Been in this space since 2011, lost money in Mt. Gox and am now advising startups and institutions on blockchain strategy.

FTX/Alameda is a shitty situation and while I think VC money is going to be frozen for a while, I think it is ultimately a good thing that all the scam tokens and the get-rich-quick retards are finally being liquidated from the system. We have to remember that the direction that crypto has been going since roughly 2016/2017 has not been beneficial to the ecosystem to a whole. Projects are being built to almost exclusively reward speculators (whether that is VCs through the funding round scams, or customers through DeFi protocols generating yield out of seemingly thin air) rather than REAL USERS.

I hope now that the industry actually focuses on building things that generate real value instead of adding cards to an extremely fragile house-of-cards, and I think there is great potential in the future. I think we should compare this to the 2001 bust. There is going to be a couple years of crabbing and general despair, but I think the fundamentals are still there and with all the exciting work going on in things like L2 protocols and institutional adoption I think the best is yet to come.

>He's a silly boy who thought Coinbase would rule the crypto world forever (in American, anyhow)
>Clearly he hasn't been around long enough to see how fast giants rise and fall in cryptospace, such as pic related
Fuckin n00bs. I've become bearish on the entire cryptospace IRL, if I'm being real. Although I guess Elon's Twitter purchase could potentially breathe some new life into it, we'll see

My Gox is preparing to make repayments by the end of this month, insiders say that many kikes fear that the price might dump since the exchange has been holding the btc for nearly 10 years and investors will sell once they get paid.
