A friend of mine was big on crypto in 2017/18 and always used Binance. He just re-entered the game a few weeks ago on the Coinbase (Burgers here). After getting tired of the tremendous fee's on Coinbase, he decided to use coinbase pro. He placed a sizeable order for a certain coin ($15K) and had a cash balance in Coinbase of ($13K) and another 6K in his checking to clear the balance. I think he failed to properly move his cash balance from CB to CB Pro, but it started a huge chain of events with NO support from Coinbase, one week and counting.
1) They sent multiple draft requests to his checking account resulting in huge overdraft fees and his own bank locking him out.
2) Once he realized what happened, he attempted to login and properly move the funds from CB to CB Pro. However, they locked him out of his accounts.
3) He has tried reaching tech support 2 to 5x per day, everyday for over a week.
4) A week later, they are still submitting the draft request. He is neck deep in NSF charges right now, I won't even quote the amount, but it is astronmical.
5) Had they answered his support at least within 24 hours, he could have easily moved his funds.
Long story short, fuck Coinbase. I had 25% of my assets there and it is now at 0%.

Why do cryptocurrencies have value? Does their value come from demand?

So... i've got a pc with a Ryzen 3600 and a 590 nitro.
I know it's not enough for bitcoin, but... what about other coins?
How much processing power would they require? How would i go about it?
Any particular hardware needed? Will i be able to use my pc for basic stuff like 4chin while it's doing it's magic?

Would be actually worth it? I'm not looking to make a huge lot, but if i can get 100 bucks to invest in altcoins i'm happy.

I was gonna ask /g/ but apparently all cryptocurrency threads belong here, even if i have no reason to assume you know jack shit about mining.

What apps should i use? Is the brave browser one (Crypto.com) any good?
Any shitcoins where i can invest few money and expect it to grow?

All free markets need some regulation to operate optimally. How regulated is crypto?

Why do you guys think that Bitcoin and other crypto will be a compelling currency in the future? Why should normal consumers care about this random monopoly money, which has no legal assurances, guarantees, or protections behind it, and which is wildly volatile? I just don't see why your everyday Joe Bloggs would care about this stuff.

Its value is basically solely determined by how much people are gambling on it. Whereas normal currencies have their value tightly controlled and regulated by governments and central banks. This means consumers can have confidence that their money is actually worth something, and that the value of this money isn't suddenly going to disappear.

TLDR: Why do you believe that crypto will be big in the future when its value is wildly volatile and will only ever be determined by how many people are speculating on it?

I have never gotten any crypto in my life. But I don't want to be poor. What should I get into if I just want to buy and hold?

Hey guys any idea whats the best crypto that can make profit by 2020?
Also any advice on how to start saving some money for an investment?
I live in eastern europe and here is pure shit when it comes to saving money and having that "kickstart" .
I would really appreciate any kind of advice coz im sick and tired of working for some non-brain "bosses".
Im not seeking for millions just a significant amount to startup a new business.
