Bobo please, we’re not going to 10K. We’re going to crab at the 25-31k range for a year and then blast to 40k while you dumb mother fuckers will scream 10K around the corner. The. We’ll hit 80K and the same Bobo’s will scream that 100K is next, and BTC will rug to 30K starting the sad process all over again.

HTH, this is financial advice.

I've been through a similar situation, OP. I've landed a very high paying job last year, innocently told my parents about it and here's what happened:
>"hey anon I'm so happy for your new job, but we're kind of broke right now, please put me as an additional cardholder on your Amex Platinum, I'll pay back anything I spend once I can"
>yes mom
>at some point apex boomer mentality kicks in: "oh anon has a good salary, he can wait until we can pay him back"
>fast forward almost a year
>spent about 9 months paying all their expenses
>had to endure almost an entire year of having a high paying job and no cash

This is the kind of shit which happens when you're too innocent. They did pay me back recently after much altercation.
Now, I'm not saying "don't help your parents". Do help them in times of need, be a good person, but don't EVER, EVER tell anyone your net worth or how much do you make. Or this will inevitably happen.
