TLDR: BAT's value is that it negates Big Brother's control on content creation revenue.

DECREASES the power of Twitter, YouTube, Google, Facebook, etc. controlling what we see/post/create on the internet, INCREASES the viewer's power to control what we see/post/create on the internet.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that BAT's pumps and dumps have been lining up with BTC's for a while now. BAT and Chainlink seem to be on their own in terms of when they rise and fall in price. I think that's a good thing.

Of course, if BTC takes a massive shit they both do too, but when BTC goes flat = BAT and Chainlink do their own thing.

These anons get it.

>"I don't mind Google harvesting my personal data and selling it to the cheapest bidder"
>"I don't mind whoring myself out in exchange for a mediocre web browser, I love Google!"

NPC mentality to a fault.

>>payments to publishers are managed once a month by Brave Inc and handled on internal servers

That point is credible, although I have nothing wrong with it. Brave is an amazing product with an awesome idea behind it, and I believe it is one of the only projects putting crypto to use. That being said it's not perfect, but the good news is the team behind it is strong and only growing.

>>WILL RUN OUT OF MONEY ANY MINUTE WITH NO CREDIBLE SOURCE OF REVENUE

Is TOTAL bullshit, the team has been hiring this year and is still hiring, so this retard is clearly talking out of his ass.

Not much to add here. I want to hold on to my BAT bags for at least another year.

People buying into BAT/Brave seem fairly rational, so it's good to know we're all in it for the long haul. Peace bat bros

I mean Brave lets you give crypto to whoever you want for whatever reason. Allowing users to give money to Reddit usernames or Twitter usernames is just a small nuance in the greater scheme of things.

The whole point of BAT is to create a web-based ecosystem for cryptocurrency, basically allowing people to earn it and use it to pay for things online without any hassle. "Paid for watching ads" or "tipping for reddit posts" is such a gross simplification of BAT.

Since February, I've received 40 BAT from Brave and donated it to content creators that I like.

I've donated ~$12 (current price, ~$35 ATH) to people that make cool stuff that I like on the internet. Some of that went to our very own Bizonacci. That's pretty fucking cool that I've received and donated free Crypto just for using Brave and hodling BAT.

Once the BAT for Ads starts up, I'll probably be receiving even more. So I guess just be patient, this project is a long-term thing with big, aspirations and goals.

I think it's pretty obvious Coinbase is holding off on listing new coins until the market is a little healthier, and if you knew anything at all about BAT and Brave you'd know that there are some really opportune times a little further down the road where a BAT listing on Coinbase could have a monumental effect (for example: Brave 1.0, or the eventual introduction of Brave Ads for BAT).

The whole purpose of Coinbase listing another coin is to further improve the case for real, practical uses of cryptocurrency in projects. They don't want to list some Vaporware shitcoin during a bear market and have it fizzle out and look embarrassing (BCH and LTC are already embarrassing enough).

When BAT is eventually listed, the coin will moon, but they might wait longer to list it in order to fit the puzzle piece into the Brave project's timeline. That's a good thing for BAT bagholders because it won't be just another limp dick pump&dump. It'll be an actual moon mission with traction.

The point of the browser is it gets rid of ads.

If you want to toggle Ads to "on" you can do so, and they pay you in BAT if you do. It's fucking awesome, free money. You can hoard it too, you don't have to donate it to anyone. I don't understand BAT hate, if it succeeds it's literally good for everyone in the crypto space. If it fails it's bad for everyone in the crypto space

I was literally looking at BAT's position today and fearing the same thing.

I think BAT's a little different though because it has a working product and consistent growth, also its team is growing and releasing Brave 1.0 soon with BAT for Ads built in. So hopefully it won't fall off like REQ or Link.

People mistake the purpose of the token for its value.

One of these uses of the Basic Attention token will be as a form of currency for the Brave browser and therefore people mistake its value for $1. Obviously it already has other uses, and will continue to develop more, and on top of that value /= one single use case scenario.

For some reason people turn off their brains when thinking about crypto use-cases, and return to basic dollar amount values and thinking that fiat would be a valid replacement for a token. There are a hundred reasons Brave needed its own token, and there will be over 20 use cases for Brave by this time next year. The value of coins and tokens is based on speculation, but BAT's value is low at the moment because there is much less speculation about its value. It already has a couple concrete uses (for example: can be used for donations in Brave, can be held onto for accumulation in wallets) and people don't value those very highly at the moment. This will change with 1. continued adoption of the Brave browser, 2. increased understanding of what the token actually does/can do, 3. Brave browser improvements, 4. Brave browser's pay-for-advertising model (to be introduced this year), 5. Coinbase listing, etc. etc.

Lots to be excited about with this token.

You realize the major draw to Brave is that it has an integrated cryptocurrency as part of the browser, right?

Everything else is a bonus.

If you honestly believe in crypto + blockchain, there's no reason to be a diehard "I'm never switching from Chrome!!!" faggot. It's actually really funny to see people so anti-Brave when it's such an awesome use-case for crypto and if it works out it's taking us forward into a new type of internet that benefits the users as much as the advertisers.

BAT's like a few months away from actually doing something. It also has a browser attached to it.

I think it'll be the first token to have a noticeable real world effect.
