Is there anything more retarded than industry based ETFs?

>want to invest in niche industry
>buy an ETF for it
>check what it contains
>80% of the companies are boring big market cap stocks from other industries because the etf wants to have a good return all the time
>when the industry really explodes the etf will be up like 5%
