psychopaths on average don't get any further ahead in life, most psychopaths are your garden variety petty criminals and rapists. So impulsive they can't even act in their own self-interest and after burning numerous bridges, if the law doesn't catch up with them, their own impulsiveness will mean someone more violent and psychopathic will fuck them up.
What you seem to be over-representing is the few High Function Psychopaths, these are the people Robert Hare wrote about - the politicians and CEOs who are intelligent and disciplined enough to suppress their impulsivity and appetite for risk and can mimic the platitudes of NPC society just enough to get a pass.
These people don't really make it because they're psychopaths, they make it because they're smart, same with Narcissists and Spergs who make it.
They learn a lot through observation and mimicry, while their lack of empathy allows them to test boundaries and push them. Where they differ from people with stupider mental illnesses is that they learn to identify the signs of when they've pushed too far, and pull back - figuring out where that sweet spot is. Most normies and NPCs never will because they consider finding that sweet spot "BEING A DICK" or are too stupid to learn from it if they go too far.
