/biz/ is always full of people with amazing success stories like "I turned these $2 into $5mil in just three days and what are YOU doing, you retard?"

This gives people two false impressions:
1) That it's impossible not to get rich with crypto.
2) That you're the only loser surrounded by amazing investors.

This is only survivorship bias. People will tell you only about their successful picks but carefully omit the bad ones. This thread is to talk about those bad ones.
I'll start.

>here since november 2017.
>BTC was $6k.
>read up on crypto and decide I'm gonna get rich quick, it's inevitable.
>wire $20k to Coinbase because I'm not fucking around with lunch money.
>Pick a few good coins (ADA, LTC, ETH, LEND), a few acceptable ones (XLM, NEO, ZRX) and a few really shitty ones (KMD, ENG, fucking Dragonchain, yes, I fell for that scam).
>For a few bullish weeks I watch my portfolio go up and up.
>Get to around $50k.
>I'm in ecstasy, I feel like a genius trader.
>I'm going to be free from wageslaving.
>Of course I've seen the fudsters on /biz/ saying that we're headed for an apocalyptic crash, but what do they know? It's still only January 2018, we still have time, crypto isn't just a get rich quick scheme, it's a new paradig...
>APOCALYPTIC CRASH OCCURS.
>Lose almost everything because I had not taken ANY profit.
>Keep hodling like a moron for weeks hoping it's just a temporary dip.
>The real problem is that even my good picks, I bought them AT THE WRONG MOMENT, after they had already gone 10x or 20x.
>Watch as my portfolio collapses to around $2k.
>Realize how much actual money I just flushed down the toilet.
>Start thinking of my losses in terms of months of wageslaving.
>Get so traumatized that my brain simply decides to forget about crypto and pretend it never happened.
>Spend almost 3 years in denial, wageslaving and dreading life even more than before.
>Didn't buy anything during the bear market because the mere thought of crypto made my stomach churn.

>She lives on the opposite side of the planet to me, so that much is obvious.
You're overrationalizing it, that means that you still have an ember of hope, but no, you will never be with her, even if she were from your country. Now, keep that money in your pocket and build your self esteem.
And yes, you're using those 5 dollars to form a kind of pseudo nexus with her. These kind of relationship exists only in your mind, she probably started streaming because she heard that it's easy money, easy money from lonely guys like anon.
