Doubt they'd be shocked. Aliens just being humans with something slightly weird about their face, or green/blue skin or w/e is well worn trope. A lot of early sci-fi was pretty lazy and un-original about "aliens" who, by their behavior, were just stand-ins for various groups of undesirables.

For example, in Star Trek the Ferengi are just a stand-in for our good friends the Israelis. As seen in pic related with their canonical whips which they used to capture slaves with.
