I mean besides ruining your credit for ten years, it's kind of based. Loans aren't taxable. Lot's of rich people use this to skirt the laws. Give your son a small loan of a million dollars then forgive the loan, tax free gift.

I'd be pissed at this trend except I'd do it if I had the money and balls. Fuck the banks. They'd literally watch your family burn alive and give zero shits. I have no moral compunction whatsoever about legally stealing from banks.

The only considerations here are fraud and blitzing your credit score. If I was 20, I'd consider it. Honestly curious why more people don't do it for their student loans.

If you can get away with it legally and you're either young enough or rich enough to get away with killing your goy-score, do it. Most 20 year olds though don't have the credit or collateral to get a $50k loan though so that's a consideration.
