taoism isn't about returning a "most natural" solution in all cases, just as a taoist wouldn't stand around and wait for death if being attacked. Personally, I tried many different psychological techniques and therapies since I used to be scared that I was making a mistake and wasn't very much of a taoist. But, I basically found just as the current medical attitude says, there's no such therapy that can help dysphoria. Anyways, hormones have fixed my dysphoria, allowed me to integrate much better into society than as an extremely feminine man, and given me a sense of peace that is hard to describe.
