I'm contemplating putting a significant portion of my savings (around 1/5 or so) into gold and silver in the coming months. I'm not an investor and I'm not approaching it from that angle, I simply want to protect my current wealth over the long term from inflation and central banking kikery. Is this a good decision or am I being a retard?
