Why are programming interviews so weird and disconnected from the real needs?

I'm not talking about a millionaire in numbers, but more the lifestyle some one attach to it

in the 80s, it were like actually 1M. then you were super comfy. could work if you wanted to, have a home wife or not, cars or not and a holiday home

in the 90s, economic crises and bubbles came, so realistically you would need mayb 1.75 to be comfy

2000... dot com crash, infinite printing and lehman brothers crash. house pricing collapses, stock market takes year to recover yet everything doubled in price in 10 years. 2,5 M here

in 2020s, when Im like 40, I don't even dare to think what's required. every time i get a salary increase or stocks goes up, everything else already moved 30% more....
