Not a bad idea at all provided you know what you're doing of course. Same applies for any collectibles too. Gold and silver are essentially just easy mode version of collectibles if you think about it that way, no need to have the expertise of understanding the value. Buying physical assets is smart if you know what you're doing, George Gammon (youtube) for example has talked about buying post-2000 good condition pickup trucks and flipping those, and chycho (youtube) has talked about investing in comic books for example

Definitely, get physical assets anon. If it's inflation, anything but cash should do well. And if it's hyper-inflation, physical, tangible assets are the place to be.
