There's nothing selfish about that. You're just staving off existential boredom and sublimating deep and probably incurable ontological pain - as do we all. Spawning a mini version of yourself, however, is the most selfish thing you can do. The best you can do is to stop being a slave to your genes, don't listen to your lizard brain; instead, reason and self-reflect. Find a like-minded partner to help you trudge through this morass of suffering and maybe try not to have children. I know it's basically pissing in the ocean, but still...
