If I need to sell gold for fiat I think it would be easier to sell a sovereign or a fractional than an entire Oz. If I have Sovereigns I can sell one and not be out of gold. I can also accumulate sovereigns faster than ounces. The premium on a sovereign vs an Oz isn't offensively bad either. I want to get 4 sovereigns before I get a whole Oz.

Is there any practical reason to spend a bit more on a BU sovereign versus a random quality?
And I was looking at British Sovereigns because I understand they are desirable, high liquidity, and a small chance of numismatic value. Is it the same for Francs or Roosters? Any reason to get one over the other?
