imho the best you can hope for is to focus on picking companies that will guaranteed reach new ATH's due to catalysts in the near future and only buy below the 200 hour MA in increments based on multiples of the ATR. all you're really trying to do is have a nice average price below the long term average price of the stock, so you make a nice profit whenever it finally moons. i use keltner channels for this, it shows you both what "low" as well as "high" looks like relative to the long term average price, it's very useful.

200 hour and 200 day MA's are major institutional metrics, which is why you'll see price bounce off or hover around them for major stocks. i don't like the 200 day because price so rarely gets there and you're looking at holding for weeks to months before a trade is completed, maybe even a year+. 200 hour is best because you can swing trade off of it more frequently over the course of only days to weeks.

>hurr durr how do you know tutes use it you lie yada yada yada.
i'll keep posting this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=2463&v=caLyY6kNihw

Hey /biz/

What alternative assets do you hold? Looking for more ways to diversify my portfolio. Already own equity and credit funds. Have a small allocation to precious metals and crypto currencies.

Was thinking of REITs and something land/property related. I also looked into a couple of fine wine funds but their performance seems to be highly correlated with gold/silver.

Other ideas were PE/VC (but not sure if there are many funds open to retail investors), P2P lending, SME loans, vintage car fund. The main concern with these is liquidity for these vehicles.

thanks for sharing your knowledge anon. very interesting.

regarding your situation: does the bank statement say anything that a quick google can give her a hint? or is it just cryptic?
if the later, you can say that it's various return from some investment in stocks and forex. just spam her with technical terms to create some fog. And you didn't tell her (and also noone else) because you didn't know how it would turn out and you were afraid that you'd make loss and that she'd be angry about it.

The Ultimate Hedge?

Let's say the entire economy collapses. Currency becomes almost worthless. Unemployment is sky-high. Let's say another great depression. How would you prepare? Let's be realistic because it could happen.

How do you handle office brown-nosers/ass kissers in the office. It's pretty rampant where I'm at and the bosses enjoy it so it's indirectly encouraged.
