Took half my profits last week, and consolidated the rest into ADA, ALGO, XTZ, and HBAR. ATOM seems like a good move too, so will pick some up at a significant discount when things cool off. In the long-term, these cryptos are going to make it.

Anyone else just going to hold on to their cryptos outside the ETH and BTC ecosystems no matter what?

Pardon me for all the questions, this is just very interesting to me.

So you can assay plants and trees, do you just take a piece off them and send it to the lab? But you also want to have soil samples with minimal organics? Or is the plant/tree thing entirely separate from a normal soil sampling process?
>As for tools, it depends how deep you have to go to get through surface soils.
I mean, if there's visible bedrock you'd want to get a chip of that instead of a soil sample right? But what about the soil, what determines the depth required for a good sample of soil, how deep is deep enough? Below roots good enough?
>The standard procedure is to fill a 5 gallon bag with a general mix of material below the organic layer, log its gps location and repeat in a clear line through the terrain
Do you have a picture of such a bag? Or does it even matter what kind of bag it is?
>Often a "line cutter" team will make you a path before hand to follow but thats not always the case. Each samples usually 100m apart but again its up to the lead geo to tell you where your digging.
Interesting, this would very well be doable in a few days alone or with a couple of guys with a smaller claim.

So does /biz/ use TA for crypto scalping or just the basics?
Do you follow the same popular strategies hopping everyone will do the same or are you a lone trader who uses his own methods?

That kind of deal would only happen if the company partnered I think. And paper money would have to be extremely inflated for the company to propose something like that, and for the miner to comply. There is competition in the supply market for mining equipment after all. But if fiat inflation simply went up a solid, big rate every year, say, 5%-10% a year. Such a deal wouldn't happen I think. That would lead to the manufacturer having to take a loan and they might not make a profit while miners would thrive

I'm an experienced engineer by trade, and a scientist by nature.

I love doing first hand research. Testing products, testing hypothesis, finding out how to optimize mundane things (in home heating, automotive fuel mileage, water use etc). I also enjoy finding, digesting, interpreting other research as well as doing meta-analysis.

I LOVE doing these things, and I've noticed that many people very much enjoy the fruits of my labor.

I want to start a website, youtube channel, blog or something similar where I simply take in requests to prove/disprove certain things, optimize everyday things.

I'm struggling with monetization. There's zero chance that I can charge anything up front for this type of deal. There's too much of a hurdle, and the majority of people are hardwired to not see value in R&D until it's already completed (see corporate R&D behavior). My thought is to utilize a willing donation setup. Maybe Patreon, but more along the lines of posting a paypal/venmo link and some crypto wallet addresses and just allowing people to donate to allow me to do fun research projects.

any insight into monetization of something of this nature?

Trying to learn programming so I don't have to kms myself. Generally you are not supposed to use floating point types for currency in accounting code because of base-2 fuckery correct? What do you do about Bitcoin? if you are using a 64-bit integer to represent satoshis then that only gives you a maximum representation of about 43 whole coins. Do you just use a higher denomination and round the dust?

price on hitbtc is bugged due to a wrong decimal point being set at 0.01 ETH. besides that price is around ICO on ED. bitcointalk thread says that they have a good chance of being listed on a nip exchange plus likely binance. they might be on to something.

once the news come out you will be too late.
they've already suggested that they will accelerate their exchange plans if development of the platform allows for it. yesterday they announced that they are moving ahead of schedule development wise.
