The whole narrative around btc has changed drastically in the last three years. Reddit, 4chan, discord, etc. actual discussions about the technical aspects of BTC are long gone because nobody cares anymore. Chinks are literally populating cmc's database with 5000 shitcoins in less than a year that nobody will know about, ever. USDT mc is unbelievably high and nobody seems to notice.

There was a lot of hype surrounding a lot of coins, a lot of stupid money pouring in from all directions, with way less liquidity. So many of the cryptos being pumped were scarcely more than ideas. Now crypto is far more mature and people can actually DO stuff - interesting stuff - with crypto. Now there is actually a rational basis to FOMO, it is way easier to buy crypto, plenty of people who feel they missed the last bubble, in a milieu with more regulatory certainty.
