When my grandpa my Boomer dad took his literally suitcase full of loose Silver Eagles to a pawn shop and got $5 a piece for them.
This happened 5 months ago. He had close to 600.
My only consolation was pulling up the actual price so he could see how badly he got fucked after it happened. And of course in typical boomer fashion he blamed the pawn shop owner rather than himself for not taking literally 3 seconds to fucking Google it.
