There is a small cap dude weed outfit that attempted something like this last year. Namaste Technologies. The CEO proposed a "pledge" whereby shareholders of record from date A to date B, I think it was a term of a couple months, who did not sell any shares in that time would be invited to attend a party thrown by the company in appreciation and good feels. I'll leave you to guess what happened...
