The purchasing power parity of Poles is actually not that bad compared to the rest of Europe. I believe you could live a reasonably comfortable life for a bit cheaper than in Poland's western neighbours.
Some of the things to look out for are: greedy, authoritarian government, hostile old boomers, hostile bydlo, and a general unyielding aura of hopelessness and despair.

Though I truly believe that in 10 years Poland will be completely on par with western European nations. In some ways it already is, but soon it will be on the same level of quality of life. Now if they could only get some more liberal social policies in the meantime. They need more freedoms.
