Some bond bulls are pretty stupid yes. Some of them still think QE isn't money printing in spite of central bankers literally telling them they're pumping broad money supply.

However, I think it's more that they think the commercial banks own the Fed, hence the Fed will protect their treasuries by causing a recession and so far they're not totally wrong about that. What they fail to see is: congress is incapable of austerity and will boot any Fed chief that doesn't enable their printing trillions in response to the recession, no matter what Jamie Dimon or Larry Summers have to say about it.
