damn i didnt catch the second part of the post. for what its worth im in a similar situation and although the threat of replacement by robots or getting fired doesnt hang over my head like yours, im 25 with a bad back and a fucked knee and have been working since i was 12. i cant and wont give you advice on change of profession since i know i thought about it and i know its not easy. all i can is give you words of encouragement and approval and share my own way of getting out of this mess or make it a bit more bearable.

you did well by deciding to start investing and if you dont know what youre doing a safe bet would be regularly putting money into a s&p500 index fund (i also have some money in s&p600), getting a good dividend aristocrats exposure, using drip and having a small (and i mean small, like 10%) of your free investing funds in something more riskier. its extremely boring and uneventful, but its low risk and it will keep your money safe from inflation at the very least. and dont underestimate that effect. with inflation constant at 2% annual your savings over 40 years would decline by like between 40%-60%.and im not sure if youre american or not, but if you are absolutely do not fuck with options or cfds if youre european. youll just become (possibly even more) suicidal. after you get a bit more experience or think of a good strategy then you can move a bit more of your free money into those riskier bets

Thanks fren. I think the one thing keeping me from caring less is a deep rooted fear of failure. That ends up translating to a feeling of zero margin for error in my work which then results in higher expectations. You're right, it is stupid to care so much about a job that only exists to squeeze as much out of its employees so the dickheads at the top can have fatter bonuses. I really need to chill the fuck out. Even if I slow down I won't get fired, and even if I get fired I still have my GME. Just venting a bit, but it does help. WAGMI

Thanks fren. I do take vitamin d everyday, but I definitely could stand to watch the ticker less. When everything else seems so hopeless, it's easy to make an obsession out of the one single hope I have, which is GME. I really do need to relax and chill out though. Thanks for the perspective.

My dog died like 7 years ago and this still happens. Worst part is even in the dream I know it's bullshit and she's dead. Sometimes I wake up and i'm right on the verge of crying. The pain is the inverse of the positive emotions. Just try to embrace that, it hurts so badly because you were lucky to have something really valuable to begin with.
