I think cash (paper money) is on the way out, digital alternatives do the same job as paper but way better.

As for coins I’m unsure, they are unwieldily for sure at times but having spent time in Japan and Hong Kong I’ve seen how coins + digital can work very well together (coins are nice to have for regular small purchases, and digital for other payments).

I can possibly imagine a situation where we have a PM coinage for daily spending combined with a crypto digital payment system and both being convertible between each other.

For this to work though the value of silver/gold would have to decline or else people will just melt the coins (that was the issue in 1965)

I can imagine it being possible for the mint to keep the melt value of the coins roughly equivalent to the value of the Crypto FedCoin
